Fine Artist Monica Gunderson
Here are some plaster masks (decorative only) and sculptures that I have been working on since 2013. As with most my work, I create what comes to mind or what inspires me. Masks are made out of plaster cloth, plaster, papier-mâché including other materials to help with shaping the form of the project.
If you are interested in purchasing one of my plaster masks, shop online at my Art Shop.

**Day of the Dead masks were inspired by the Mexican holiday and history of "Día de Muertos". Especially of their tradition of creating colorful sugar skulls (calaveras de azúcar) and skull masks (calacas).
**March Hare mask, Mad Hatter mask, and Sleeping Dormouse sculpture were inspired by Lewis Carroll's "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" (1865).
