Artists Wanted - Modesto California
Modesto Unplugged Music Festival and ModestoView are looking for artists to show their artwork at local Modesto music events, "Music at the GMC". All events will be held at the Gottschalk's Music Center Recital Hall at 1502 E Street in downtown Modesto, California. Doors open at 7:00pm, and concert begins at 7:30pm. General admissions for each concert is $15.00, ages 12 and under are free, if you're showing artwork you get in free. All artists who are scheduled to display their artwork needs to be at Gottschalks Music Center Recital Hall an hour early at 6:00pm in order to set up.
The space for artists is located at the back of the concert hall. I was able to fit my 4 x 2 foot table and three easels, anything more than that would be crowded. The overall space available is about 8x2 feet of usable space to display artwork. Seating is right in front of artwork with enough room for people to get to and from the concession stand and have people view your artwork. The lights are on before, during intermission, and after the concert. The space is shared with the audience and the band, so lights are turned down low during the concert. You will need to bring your own table and or easels.
For a visual idea of how much space you will have in order to show artwork in, refer to the image below.
Note: Seating ended up being inches away from my easels.
