I had imagined this drawing after I had read an article that has the words "Octopus Village" within the title. Apparently, there is a colony of octopi that live off the east coast of Australia. Biologists who have studied this cephlapods community had discovered that their social behaviors are far more complex than previously thought. This particular species lives as a group, while most are observed ad living by themselves. Researchers also noted that the octopi group had social signals such as changing of color during different interactions with other octopi which originally was thought only used as a defense mechanism towards predators. There were also other social signals the the octopi community would use such as standing tall, reaching out to each other, wrestling, and other social integrations. Once I had finished reading this interesting article, this is the image that had come to my mind.
