The Story Behind the Artwork:

This ink pen drawing is based off of my own thoughts and ideas. I love cephalopods, especially cuttlefish (if you have not noticed already), and this idea came to me a few years ago before this ink pen drawing was even created. The original drawing of the girl hugging the cuttlefish was first created on 4/11/2012. The idea came from my son and husband because they love to cuddle. At the time, my son was twelve years old, and he still liked to cuddle with mom! I remember when he was little we (my husband, son and I) would cuddle up on the couch and read books or watch movies. To this day, sometimes you will find us all gathered on the couch watching a movie or show, or my son and I will have our favorite blankets and be all cuddled up reading a book. So there you have it! My drawing, "Have You Cuddled Your Cuddlefish Today?" came from the idea of me and my loving family spending quality time reading, watching movies and cuddling on the couch. Some people may call their children "their little cuddle bug", when my son was little, he was my "cuddlefish". He does not go by this playful nickname anymore because he is older, and gosh mom, you don't want to embarrass your son! As for my husband, he will always be my "cuddlefish".
