Da de Muertos Sugar Skull Masks
These plaster and paper mâché masks and sculpture are a great addition to decorate any home, apartment, office, or dorm room. Each plaster mask is hand-painted with acrylic paints and is carefully wired in the back so it can be hung as a decoration on any wall. Monica has created several decorative masks and currently has some for sale. The Alice in Wonderland theme masks of the Mad Hatter or the March Hair with the addition of the sleepy dormouse sculpture which can also be displayed and hung on any wall. The beautiful Day of the Dead/Día de los Muertos Masks to decorate alter or to hang in any living or office space.
**March Hare mask, Mad Hatter mask, and SleepingDormouse sculpture were inspired by Lewis Carroll's "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" (1865).
**Day of the Dead ink pen drawings were inspired by the Mexican holiday and history of "Día de Muertos", especially of their tradition of creating colorful sugar skulls (calaveras de azúcar).
Materials: All masks are for decoration only (they are not wearable) and are created with plaster cloth, plaster, papier-mâché, acrylic paint, card stock paper, and/or glaze. Other materials such as ribbon, dried plants, and other materials may have been used. All masks and sculpture include a Certificate of Authenticity with the Artists' signature.
